GUIDE
How to make a video in another language
On Ginvid's Video page you pick the video's language and everything follows it: the script is written in that language, the narration is spoken in it and the captions are transcribed in it. There are 14 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Turkish, Indonesian. A finished video can also be remade in another language from My videos.

What changes when you pick a language
- The script: it is written directly in the language, not translated line by line from English. A script you paste is used as you wrote it.
- The voice: every standard voice reads every language, and the premium voices follow the language of the words.
- The captions: they are transcribed in the video's language and timed to the voice.
- The fixed lines Ginvid adds for YouTube, such as the credit line in the suggested description, come in the video's language.
- Length: a language needs more or fewer words for the same story, so Ginvid sizes the script to the language's speaking pace and the video lands near the length you chose.
What does not change
- The price. A language costs the same as English.
- The pictures, the look and the video type.
How to do it
Choose the language on the Video page before you make the video, next to the voice, then write or paste the idea. The same works for a channel: each Autopilot has its own language, so one membership can run a channel per market. For a video that already exists, open it in My videos and choose Another language under its edits: Ginvid translates every scene's narration, keeps the pictures, shows the price first and makes a new version. A video that uses your own recorded voice cannot be translated that way, and a talking host is not translated afterwards, so choose the language before making one.
Languages that are not offered yet
All fourteen use the Latin alphabet, which Ginvid's caption font and line-breaking handle well. Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese and Korean need other fonts, right-to-left text or line breaking without spaces, so they are not offered until captions can show them properly.
A check you should make
Read the script before you make the video. If you do not read the language, ask someone who does; a script is written to be spoken, and a native speaker is the best test of how it sounds.
Try it
Open the Video page and choose the language next to the voice. Plans from $39 a month.
